New After-school Program for Students in Grades 5-6
This fall, Southern Tier Catholic School will host an after-school program for students in 5th and 6th grade to learn the basics of computer programming. Kodu Club, based on the Microsoft Kodu program, will help students develop 21st Century Skills in a fun and interactive way. The program will be facilitated by BOCES staff developer and STCS parent Antonio Scordo. The club will run most Thursdays from 3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. with some Friday meetings. STCS Welcomes New Principal
Mrs. Donna J.Sweet, Archbishop Walsh Academy Principal, will serve as principal for both Archbishop Walsh and Southern Tier Catholic School for the 2010-2011 school year. Mrs. Sweet served on the Archbishop Walsh Board and managed the International Baccalaureate process as Walsh seeks to offer an IB Diploma Program. Mrs. Sweet's children attended Walsh, and she believes strongly in Catholic Education. She is looking forward to serving as principal of Southern Tier Catholic School in the upcoming school year.
